More About Croydon

Sometime in the 1900s, this suburb of Victoria used to be known as the White Flats, thanks to the silvery-white grass growing around it and used for grazing cattle. Now, Croydon boasts of a great many facilities and shopping hubs eateries and retailers. The Croydon Central, as it is known has seen a lot of development over the last few years.  The suburb has plenty of parklands full of wetlands, sporting facilities and open spaces. Places such as Main Street are teeming with lovely cafes and cinemas where one can enjoy a glass of wine while watching a movie.
As can be said about a lot of places around Victoria, Croydon is a family-friendly suburb with all the big city conveniences and also has a lot of older couples settled in. There are a lot of large, 1980’s era double-storey houses with plenty of scope for renovation, should you want to buy property here. This town has that “village” feel and the presence of these houses just enhances it. Lately, Croydon has been referred to as an “overachiever” by property gurus. A majority of houses sold here have raked in unexpected revenues, making the median house price shoot up by 50%.
Public transport includes buses and trains and for motorists, there is the Moorandah Highway which has been undergoing upgrades that will reduce congestion and allow more people to move freely at the intersection. The town is undergoing constant upgradation, with the town centre having guidelines for planning up to 30 years for key sites.
