More About Dandenong
Situated about 300 kilometres from Melbourne, Dandenong is a major industrial and commercial hub. In 2018, it was declared the most culturally diverse city in Australia, with four out of five residents having at least one parent born overseas representing a range of ethnic groups. Dandenong has been known for the Dandenong Ranges and its amazing rocky landscapes, which have been popular tourist destinations. Its local community markets and the Mount Dandenong Observatory also attract a number of tourists every year.
In the past few years, Dandenong’s image has been on a revival; from “repressed” to “blossoming”. Over the past few years, the Victorian government has endowed the region under the $300 million Revitalising Central Dandenong project. The major changes that the project oversaw were: improved public transport, easy connectivity around the city throughout the day, a well-connected market, a greener city and more footfalls at the city centre. The project continues to create economic activity and jobs in the region.
The city also acquired 170 hectares of land in the heart of the central business district for establishment of new infrastructure. No wonder then, that this new and improved version of the city has caught the attention of the investors. With great city infrastructure, public transport, affordable housing (40% cheaper than Melbourne) and a vibrant city life, more and more people are considering moving to Dandenong. In 2017, the city signed another project worth $40 million that will see development on Foster Street to include more than 135 flats giving the population more housing options.
As Dandenong continues to develop as one of the most multicultural suburbs in Melbourne, so too does the property market. Over the years we’ve seen growth in the price of property in Dandenong, which can spell good news for sellers. Buyers get to enjoy cultural diversity of Dandenong through its restaurant and food scene, fun activities. With a lot of large properties across the suburb for homeowners, it’s no surprise that over 43% of residents are couples and families with children. Determining whether Dandenong is the place for you is just as important is the process of buying and selling. Conveyancing.com.au can provide the best Conveyancer in Dandenong to look after you.
